Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a new Soulslike adventure from Team Ninja. A spiritual successor to Nioh and its sequel, the game offers a dark fantasy twist on Chinese mythology with a formidable learning curve – and a comprehensive list of release platforms. We’re looking at PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and the older Xbox One and PS4 machines for today’s tech breakdown. With seven consoles plus two modes each on the current-gen machines, that’s a total of 11 ways to play and perhaps predictably, some options are very much better than others. Series X and PS5 offer the best…
Ironmace, the Korean developer behind upcoming mediaeval looter Dark and Darker, has had its office searched after allegations the studio created its game with stolen code. These accusations were made by Nexon, another Korean developer and one which several Ironmace employees used to work for. Reportedly, certain members of Ironmace’s team were “disciplinarily fired from Nexon”, with Nexon claiming they are now “making games using materials and assets they worked on during their time at Nexon” (via This Is Game/Google Translate). A few years back, browsing on Instagram, I was delighted to see a book I knew. The spine of it, anyway: a perfect bolt of cheery gold, stacked neatly on a shelf by some plants. The book was Kenny Shopsin’s life-changingly great cookbook Eat Me, which I absolutely recommend, and the shelf it was on formed part of a cookbook library in Shake Shack’s test kitchen. I emailed Shake Shack about this, because I am weird and because I am always hoping for an invite to a test kitchen, but even before they got back to confirm that they loved…
With several delays now behind it, a release is finally in sight for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum – and ahead of its arrival later this year, developer Daedelic Entertainment has shared a fresh look at its stealthy action in a new gameplay trailer. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is, if you’re unaware, forging something of a unusual path through Middle-earth, taking its wide-eyed protagonist on an adventure that promises moments of both “subtle tactical stealth” and “fast-paced parkour action” across a mixture of open levels and more linear missions. It’s a journey – one set before the…
Three weeks after Wild Hearts’ arrival, developer Omega Force has released the first free post-launch content update for its wonderful Monster-Hunter-like, this one introducing a new Kemono variant – the Hellfire Laharaback – plus a heap of balance adjustments and fixes. Hellfire Laharaback is an extremely powerful variant of the base game’s Lavaback (it’s officially classed as a Volatile Kemono according to Omega Force, meaning it’s very much considered end-game content) and arrives as part of a new quest challenging players to “quell the torrid inferno before it reduces everything to ash, and restore tranquility to the island.” Defeating the…
Publisher Dotemu’s stupendous beat-’em-up revival Streets of Rage 4 has just received a big free update on all platforms, adding the likes of new co-op moves and a custom survival mode. For the most part, today’s update is focused on fixes, tweaks, and balance adjustments – over 300 in total, according to Dotemu – designed to finesse the already stellar core experience. These range from the addition of new destructible objects around stages to help maintain combo counters, to specific character improvements. However, there’re also new co-op-focused moves, including the ability to sling your partner across the screen – at…
The Eurogamer video team has been all abuzz since Capcom surprise dropped a demo for its upcoming remake of Resident Evil 4, and I’m not just talking about our excitement levels here either!Snappily titled ‘Chainsaw Demo’, this 15 minute gameplay snippet covers the first section of the game as Leon (and his surprisingly shiny curtains) fights his way towards the famous showdown with a chainsaw wielding Ganado in the village centre. If you’d like to see the demo in action but currently have no way to play it yourself, you can watch Aoife set fire to a cow as I watch…
Rapper and producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is developing a TV series named Vice City, a new report has confirmed – but it is nothing to do with Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto. Jackson set tongues wagging last week when he posted the familiar neon-pink logo for Rockstar’s Vice City on Instagram and cryptically claimed that “this shit bigger than Power” – a reference to his previous hit TV show. That post was later taken down by Jackson, and we now have official word via Deadline that the project simply shares a name with Rockstar’s much-loved GTA entry. Read more Source…
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 lands today, bringing with it a heavy dose of Asian-inspired architecture from both the past and the future. The game’s Island map has been radically changed via areas themed around ancient temples, as well as a huge neon city location. It’s here, in this latter area, you’ll be able to hop on grind rails to get about and shoot while on the move. It’s this season’s biggest new gameplay mechanic. But there’s plenty more in store – not least a floating island location which will rift into the sky mid-match. Read more Source – eurogamer.net…
