Dataminers have discovered secret bonus points are given out in Mario Kart Super Circuit for everyone except Yoshi. At the end of each Grand Prix, players are awarded a rank from E (lowest) to three stars (highest), which is calculated using a complex formula. However, free bonus points are also awarded based on the character the player chooses. If the player chooses Bowser, for instance, they will receive an extra 45 points for their choice. Yoshi players get nothing. Read more Source – eurogamer.net All content and images belong to their respected owners. This article is aggregated for informational purposes…

Early details of several potential Assassin’s Creed projects have been leaked online, which are said to be in the “conceptual and prototype” phases within Ubisoft. These include a project from Assassin’s Creed Rogue studio Ubisoft Sofia with story elements set in multiple time periods, including the highly-requested Aztec Empire, as well as India and the Mediterranean. The other projects discussed by Insider Gaming sound like smaller spin-offs, such as a free-to-play four-player PVE co-op game from Ubisoft Chengdu, a multiplayer project which uses Ubisoft’s nebulous cloud computing tech from Ubisoft Annecy and Massive Entertainment, and a second Assassin’s Creed VR…

Here’s a sentence I never thought I’d write: a Five Nights at Freddy’s cookbook is set to release in September 2023. The official Five Night at Freddy’s Cookbook – called, unsurprisingly, the Official Five Nights at Freddy’s Cookbook – features 40+ recipes for just the type of tucker you’d expect at the Pizzaplex, including Fredbear’s Pepperoni X-Press, Chica’s Ultimate Thai Chicken Burger, Foxy’s Fruity Cove Cooler, and El Chip’s Fully Loaded Tortillas. “The one and only OFFICIAL Five Nights at Freddy’s Cookbook, with over 40 recipes inspired by the hit games,” says the blurb. “Delight in over forty tasty recipes…

Bungie is currently investigating an issue where the early preload of Destiny 2’s upcoming expansion, Lightfall, is locking players out of the game entirely. Right now, it seems as though the issue is chiefly affecting those on PS5 and players that don’t delete and reinstall the game may find themselves locked out completely until launch day. “We’re currently investigating an issue where the preload of Lightfall has been pushed out early in some regions,” Bungie tweeted over the weekend. “We recommend players pause this download until February 27, 9 AM PST (-8 UTC) to continue playing the live game.” Read…

I don’t know if you’ve ever worked with oil paints, but the point of them is simple: you can move them around pretty much forever. Oils take an eternity to dry, which can be really annoying if you’re delighted with what you’ve done and want to get it varnished. But the upside is absolutely filled with upness – it’s front-loaded with upness. You place the paints on the canvas and you are absolutely not committing yourself to anything. For the next few hours and days you can take a brush and just move that stuff around, blending, reshaping, reworking, completely…

Cyanide Studios has posted a lengthy response to fans unhappy at the current state – and monetisation strategy – of Blood Bowl 3. With just 27 per cent of players giving the game a thumbs up on Steam – that’s a 73 per cent disapproval rate amassed from almost a thousand players at this point – Cyanide outlined what “players can expect […] as we move forward” as well as explore the “sensitive topic” of monetisation. After thanking players for supporting the game, the team identified six main complaints: “the monetisation, the Brutal Edition, the game state, the server issues,…

This piece contains spoilers for the end of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Somewhat appropriately, I begin this discussion of a Star Wars game with a Luke-warm take: game endings are quite frequently a bit rubbish. The usual structure is an extra-tough last level, a final boss fight, a cutscene to wrap it all up and then roll credits. There’s nothing inherently wrong with this structure, but it seems tricky to get right. Those last levels are often a slog, relying on the weight of numbers or cheap tricks to present a challenge, and a game’s final boss isn’t necessarily…
