EA has reportedly added loot boxes to the latest playtest build of its highly-anticipated new Skate project, tying them to earnable in-game currency in a manner seemingly consistent with its previous promise of there being no paid loot boxes in the game. Developer Fntastic has announced The Day Before will not be releasing as expected on 1st March. Instead, its zombie MMO is now set for release on 10th November. The reason for this fairly sizable delay? The developer claims it did not trademark the game’s name and now someone else has done so instead. Minecraft developer Mojang has introduced a major new armour customisation feature for the game’s latest PC test build. The catchily-named snapshot 23w04a includes the ambitious Armour Trim Smithing feature, which lets you visually customise the game’s blocky armour. To do this, you’ll need to find a consumable Smithing Template for the customisation type you want, plus a smattering of resources to determine the colour you desire. Fresh images have emerged of the Fallout TV series set, revealing the iconic Red Rocket gas stations for the first time. These aren’t official images, but have been taken from the set that’s still under construction and shared online by Twitter user J Carson (thanks PC Gamer). 505 Games has announced silly sci-fi adventure Journey to the Savage Planet is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on 14th February in a new Employee of the Month Edition, introducing 4K support, a smattering of new content, and more. Developer Fatshark has delayed Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’s upcoming Xbox Series X/S release, saying it has made the decision to spend the next few months solely addressing fan feedback after the game “fell short” of expectations. As part of the ongoing FTC lawsuit against Microsoft’s buyout of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft has served Sony a subpoena to divulge information on its game production pipeline. It means Sony may be forced to reveal confidential information on its future plans it would likely prefer to keep quiet. The subpoena was issued on 17th January with a response date of 20th January, though this has been extended until 27th January for Sony to “move to limit or quash or otherwise respond to the subpoena”.
