Following a couple of morse code teases earlier this week, SteamWorld developer Thunderful Games has announced it’ll be revealing “what’s next for the series” in a special video showcase scheduled to air on Monday, 23rd January. To date, Thunderful has released five, radically different instalments in the celebrated SteamWorld series: SteamWorld Tower Defense, SteamWorld Dig 1 & 2, SteamWorld Heist, and SteamWorld Quest. A sixth game, SteamWorld Headhunter, was announced in 2021. John Wick director Chad Stahelski will helm the upcoming movie adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six. The film will see the return of Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan as John Clark, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Jordan previously played Clark, a Navy SEAL-turned-CIA operative, in Paramount’s 2021 straight-to-streaming movie Without Remorse – another adaptation of a Tom Clancy work. Monster Hunter Rise expansion Sunbreak has now sold over 5m copies worldwide across Switch and PC. Capcom shared the news on the official Monster Hunter Twitter account, thanking hunters for their support. A new commemorative in-game item pack will soon be released in celebration. At least 11,000 jobs are expected to be lost at Microsoft this week, as the technology and gaming giant undergoes a fresh round of cost cutting. Microsoft currently employs around 220,000 people worldwide. These latest job losses will equate to around five percent of its overall workforce, Sky News reported last night. Paradox Interactive’s sci-fi strategy game Stellaris is expanding once more, this time with a new Story Pack DLC focused on civilisations’ early encounters with alien visitors. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the next game from Batman Arkham developer Rocksteady, will include a battle pass system focused on cosmetic items, it’s been claimed. A leaked image apparently showing the game’s main menu appeared online last night, spread via Twitter and reddit, and has now been verified as real and recent by VGC, apparently taken from a PlayStation test build.
