I’ve been fascinated lately by micro-RPGs, and specifically micro-JRPGs. Typically crafted in RPG Maker and published on Itch.io, these clever miniatures run a wide gamut, as I learned from a Twitter chat with sraëka-lillian, creator of the experimental OI series. Some, like GeaSaga from Ka·in Works, are full-scale distillations of classic role-playing narrative structures, trimming back all the grinding, exposition and angst to a limber playlength of 10 hours or less. God of War’s latest PC patch is here, and as well as a handful of bug fixes, it’s also bringing a DLSS sharpening slider, too. In a modest update over the weekend, the PC team at Sony Santa Monica deployed Patch v1.0.4 for the critically acclaimed game, which also includes a fix for unresponsive Atreus so that his state is reset if you restart from your checkpoint. New co-op shooter The Anacrusis has clocked up over 200,000 players since it was released on 13th January.While the game remains in Early Access and is also available as part of Xbox’s Game Preview programme for Xbox consoles, developer Stray Bombay confirmed the milestone in a recent update.
