Atlas Fallen is a new fantasy action RPG from The Surge developer Deck 13, set for release on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2023. We got a first look at Atlas Fallen tonight during Gamescom Opening Night Live, via a flashy CGI trailer which shows off its sand-covered semi-open world and superpowered beasties. New figures reveal that Warner Bros. has welcomed over 20 million brawlers to MultiVersus, doubling its numbers since the start of August. In an interview with GamesBeat, Warner Bros. Disgaea 7 has just been announced by developer Nippon Ichi Software for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PS5.First details of the game were published by the PlayStation Japan blog, which also shared a fresh announcement trailer, below. The setting for Disgaea 7 is a world called the Hinomoto Netherworld Cluster, which is heavily inspired by Japanese history and culture. PlayStation is planning to adapt the excellent Gravity Rush into a movie, it has been reported. Deadline states that the Japan Studio title is the latest to be added to a long, long line of projects in the works at PlayStation Productions. So far, director Anna Mastro (who helmed Disney+ series Secret Society of Second Born Royals) and script writer Emily Jerome (Panopticon) are attached. The Game Awards 2022 will be held on 8th December, it has been announced. The video game industry’s annual winter trailer fest, which also includes some awards, will broadcast live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and be livestreamed online. This year’s show will include a new category for Best Adaptation, which will award “shows, movies, books, podcasts, comics and more” which “authentically adapt” video game source material. Minecraft’s default player skin Steve has finally regrown its original beard, after 13 years. Developer Mojang has updated the character designs for both Steve and Alex for the first time in over a decade. The changes add extra 3D elements to both of their blocky models – and return Steve’s OG face fuzz. Steve’s beard was lost back in 2009, as part of a move to make Minecraft’s default skin more gender-neutral. It wasn’t until 2014 that the ponytailed Alex made an appearance. Destiny 2 will host a series of Fortnite cosmetics, a recent datamine of the game has revealed. Themed armour sets for each of Destiny’s three classes have been leaked, each showcasing a look based on a classic Fortnite skin (thanks, Ginsor). Bungie is yet to confirm the collaboration, which seems likely to be made official tomorrow night during its big Destiny 2 livestream.
