Crypt of the Necrodancer gets online multiplayer, Versus mode, and more in huge new Synchrony DLC
Crypt of the Necrodancer, the acclaimed rhythm-based dungeon-crawler from Brace Yourself Games, has – following its first update in five years last month – launched a huge new expansion, titled Synchrony, into Steam early access, bringing new characters, online multiplayer, and more. And if that wasn’t enough, there’s also some sort of sequel or spin-off on the way. Getting the latter part of the announcement out of the way first, as details are currently rather limited, the follow-up is called Rift of the Necrodancer and is described as “new standalone rhythm game in the Necrodancer universe.” Exactly what form it’ll…
Dead Cells, the ever-expanding rogue-like action-platformer from developers Motion Twin and subsidiary Evil Empire, continues to swell, this time with the newly released Enter the Panchaku update, which introduces pet petting, a formidable dual frying pan weapon, and more. The ability to pet your pets in a rogue-like action-platformer mightn’t be at the top of your own personal list of exciting additions, but – as revealed in Evil Empire’s extremely extensive release notes – the feature is now in, giving players the ability to show their companions some love between biomes. And why wouldn’t you want to do that, you…
With NBA 2K23’s 9th September release date rapidly approaching, publisher 2K has shared a closer look at this latest series instalment’s new features – including a new trailer – playing up the concept of “authenticity” across its defensive and offensive tool kit. It’s an extensive list of new features, as detailed in a lengthy new blog post, with 2K saying this year’s gameplay changes should “should translate to more wins, and more seamless actions”. On the offensive side of things, there are new gesture combos to the Pro Stick, which 2K says has allowed it to “expand the dunking controls…

Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive has revealed its next game: Meet Your Maker. It’s a first-person building and raiding game that takes place in a hellish, post-apocalyptic wasteland, with players building towering industrial outposts filled with traps to protect genetic material – and then infiltrating the outposts of others to steal the precious resource. It certainly feels like a departure from the popular horror multiplayer game, both in its genre and its aesthetic. But there are more similarities than you might think. Elden Ring has been heavily criticised for its performance issues, particularly its PC iteration. That’s why one modder has taken matters into their own hands and taken drastic measures: chopping down the Erdtree. For the unfamiliar, the Ertree is the giant golden tree that not only dominates the world with its shimmering branches, but dominates the narrative and the lives of the inhabitants in The Lands Between. NFL team the LA Rams may be feeling a little sheepish this morning. Following an event that allowed the team early access to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, several images and snippets from the game have made their way onto the internet. You could say, these leaks are ram-pant. The first image shows off the game’s upcoming multiplayer lobby, which you can see in the tweet below. This image was originally shared by NFL player Cameron Dicker, although they clearly realised the error of their ways and swiftly removed the shot from their socials. This is the internet, however,…
Valve has released SteamOS 3.3 along with a stable, updated version of the Steam Deck client. The new version of SteamOS has plenty of new features as well as bug fixes. Following Valve’s warning a couple of weeks ago about the Steam Deck’s performance in high temperatures, temperature notifications have been added which warn you when the console goes outside of the safe operating range. Fashionably late to the heatwave, but handy for anyone who’s enjoying the last of the summer time. Read more Source – eurogamer.net All content and images belong to their respected owners. This weekend the Formula E London E-Prix took place at the ExCel exhibition centre, the only top-level indoor and outdoor track in international motosport. It may not quite have the prestige of F1, but the sport is rapidly growing in popularity. And it’s not just about electric cars, but virtual ones too. On Friday night the second Accelerate esports championship took centre stage at the London E-Prix. Streamed live on Twitch and YouTube, it saw drivers going head-to-head to win a share of €100,000. The esports arm of Formula E grew during the pandemic and a need to engage racing…
This week marks the very long-awaited arrival of Sea of Thieves’ captaincy update, and developer Rare has shared a detailed video breakdown of its new features – including ship owning, naming, and extended customisation – as part of its new Season 7 trailer. Those who’ve been with Sea of Thieves for the long haul might recall that captaincy features were originally planned for the game’s very first post-release update, back in 2018. A development rethink after a wobbly launch saw those plans put on the back burner, so it was a bit of a surprise when they finally resurfaced some…
