Psychonauts 2 is set to receive a physical release on Xbox and PS4. Known as the Motherlobe Edition it will come with art cards, stickers, and a reversible sleeve. Facebook’s parent company has detailed its new Meta account system, which will be offered as an alternative way of logging in to Meta VR devices. Previously-announced plans to make Facebook logins a requirement for Meta VR headsets had been hugely unpopular and plagued with problems. Supermassive Games and 2K have released a new patch for The Quarry, which adds the Wolf Pack multiplayer component to the game.”Wolf Pack is an invite-only mode where a host can invite up to seven friends with access to the game to watch along. Final Fantasy 14’s Balmung server is being protected by a barricade of catgirls. That’s thanks to the new Data Centre Travel system that allows players to visit other worlds – it was so popular it was taken down soon after it launched but is now back up. Microsoft has said it will attend Gamescom 2022, which returns in-person to Cologne in August for the first time in three years. Ubisoft has announced Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence, a new free-to-play entry in its looter shooter series for smartphones due for a full launch in 2023. Like its bigger console and PC brothers, Resurgence will be a third-person shooter RPG set in an open world, with a fresh story campaign which will offer a “new perspective on key story events”. Open-world game Biomutant will get new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions on 6th September. An update, free for existing owners of the game, will add 4K resolution, HDR support and a boosted frame-rate “up to 60fps”. On PS5, three graphics modes will be offered. Quality (30fps at 4K), Quality Unleashed (40+ fps “up to 4K”) and Performance (60fps locked at 1440p). DualSense support and Activity Cards will also be available.
