Twitch is making some major changes to its tagging system, allowing streamers to more accurately define their content. The changes were revealed in a new Twitch Patch Notes stream that detailed forthcoming features. The tag system will soon be updated so that streamers can create custom tags. A Nintendo fan reportedly spent 5m yen (around £30k) on Nintendo stock to ask the company about a potential F-Zero sequel in an annual shareholder meeting. During the meeting, which took place on Tuesday, the shareholder asked Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa if the company would consider making new games or remakes of its dormant series, specifically F-Zero. As translated by VGC, Furukawa replied: “It is realistically difficult to develop new titles and remakes, including sequels, for every Nintendo game that people request, but we are very grateful and appreciate the expectations our fans have for our games.” Read more Source…
GOG has reinstated Blade Runner: ScummVM edition following a fan outcry. Last month, Nightdive Studios released its critically-panned remaster of Westwood Studios’ classic point-and-click adventure, delisting the popular fan-made effort in the process. While buying the Enhanced Edition from GOG also got you the original version, fans slammed the troubled remaster in user reviews, giving it an overall rating of 1.5 stars out of five. It has been a long time coming, but positive steps are finally being made towards Halo Infinite’s campaign co-op mode. The beta for the campaign’s co-op will begin on 11th July, and culminates on the 22nd.343 industries’ principal software engineering lead Isaac Bender and lead world designer John Mulkey have also provided more insight to the game’s upcoming co-op mode. Earlier this week, news broke of a modder that hacked AMD’s FSR 2.0 temporal upscaling technology into Cyberpunk 2077, allowing users of non-RTX graphics cards the chance to play the game at higher frame-rates with substantially better visual quality than with FSR 1.0 upscaling. That’s massive for owners of AMD GPUs, and the mod even works beautifully on Steam Deck. Retro-inspired RPG Sea of Stars has been delayed into 2023. It’s from Sabotage, the team behind ninja-platformer The Messenger, and features some truly stunning pixel art. With the second Overwatch 2 beta in full swing, lucky players have shared new features and changes they’ve encountered. The original Overwatch wasn’t updated to natively support the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, so there’s huge expectation that the sequel will bring the latest and greatest tech features. Beta players have reported that the game will be able to run at 120 FPS with variable refresh rate (VRR) support. Cory Barlog, director of 2018’s God of War, has asked the PlayStation community to exercise some patience while waiting for more news on the game’s sequel, Ragnarök.”If it were up to me, I would share all the information when I know about it. Unity is laying off four percent of its workforce to “realign some of [its] resources”, affecting offices across the globe. Kotaku initially reported the news of the game development engine company. Unity has since released a statement to Protocol acknowledging four percent of its workforce is impacted, which Protocol estimates at roughly over 200 workers.
