Almost exactly one year after Sonic Frontiers’ initial tease, Sega has returned with a new brand-new trailer offering our first, brief look at some gameplay for the hedgehog’s latest adventure. Nintendo’s mysterious cancelled Kirby GameCube platformer has been spotted in a (very brief) snippet of new gameplay footage. The video, posted to YouTube by Foulowe59, shows a montage of gameplay footage apparently filmed on Nintendo’s showfloor booth at E3 2005. If you’re watching the new Obi-Wan Kenobi series and want yet more backstory, it sounds like you could do a lot worse than read this month’s latest Star Wars novel, Brotherhood. Brotherhood takes place during the Clone Wars, and stars both Anakin Skywalker and Kenobi off on another adventure. But it’s the novel’s cameos which have sparked some extra attention – seeing as they acknowlege a couple of well-known video games (thanks, GamesRadar). For starters, Brotherhood apparently includes a “blink-and-you’ll-miss-it” appearance by Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order star Cal Kestis, who was but a youngling at the time of the…

The weeks in the run-up to E3 – or what remains of it – are always something of a dry spell, which perhaps may explain some of the more outlandish nature of the topics for discussion this week. After a presentation from TV manufacturer, TCL, rumours are starting to gather pace that Pro/enhanced consoles will come from Microsoft and Sony in 2024. Meanwhile, Microsoft is planning an xCloud streaming stick – something that does actually seem to be happening – and news emerges from Sony about its long term strategy, covering PC, mobile and a ‘longest ever tail’ for PlayStation…
