Take-Two Interactive has described FIFA as a “great brand” with “incredible clout”, following the football organisation’s high-profile split with EA last week after almost 30 years. Spacefaring sim sequel Kerbal Space Program 2 – which has faced repeated delays since its unveiling in 2019 – has been delayed yet again, and is now expected to arrive in “early 2023” on PC, with a console release to follow later in that year. Netflix will be giving its Cyberpunk 2077 animated series a first airing – alongside glimpses of its live-action Resident Evil show and Cuphead season 2 – during its Geeked Week event in June. Bloober Team is rumoured to be working on a remake of Silent Hill 2, with reworked puzzles and new endings, as a timed PlayStation exclusive. The rumour comes courtesy of Nate the Hate and has been corroborated by VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb. Twitch and Discord have issued statements following the deadly mass shooting in Buffalo, New York at the weekend, which is being investigated as a racially-motivated attack. 10 people died and three more were injured in the shooting, all but two of whom were African-American. The perpetrator, an 18-year-old white man, livestreamed the attack on Twitch, and planned it via a private server on Discord. Staff at Activision Blizzard have criticised the company’s diversity tool that was revealed over the weekend. Known as the Diversity Space Tool, it was started in 2016 and has been in beta at mobile studio King. It’s intended to boost the diversity of characters in games, but has been criticised for belittling diversity and diminishing it to a checklist.
