Fans call for Nintendo to improve Switch Sports naming filter and add a reporting function
Nintendo Switch Sports released last week and already the game is being flooded with inappropriate user names. Nintendo has added a filter to prevent obvious rude words, but many players are finding creative ways to circumvent the filter. Players on Reddit want Nintendo to amend the naming filter, or add a method of reporting inappropriate content. I am the right age to measure out a lot of my life in Tomb Raiders. The Core games took me through university – back when 3D itself felt weird and experimental and slightly (thrillingly!) unstable, with those jagged edges around the sides of the screen when Lara was exploring underground corridors. The long wait for a proper gen-hopping follow-up took place when I shuffled through temp jobs, then the eventual release of The Angel of Darkness. Over the last decade we’ve had rebooted Lara: close-up, crafting her own arrows, skinning wolves and falling on rusty spikes. A Lara who…
Ubisoft has revealed the development of its troubled Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake – which was originally due to release in January last year – has been moved a new studio and will now release “when it’s ready”. Prior to today’s announced, the Sands of Time remake was being developed by Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai, but the project has been dogged by setbacks since its unveiling in September 2020. Shortly after its announcement, Ubisoft moved its launch date from January 2021 to March that same year, but February brought a second delay, this time indefinitely, while the team…
Furi, the now six-year-old psychedelic boss rush extravaganza from developer The Game Bakers, is poised to receive a new lease of life later this month on 17th May with the arrival of its newly announced Onnamusha DLC. Furi – which The Game Bakers has previously described as a “love letter to Japanese action games such as No More Heroes, Metal Gear Solid and Godhand” – first released on PC in 2016, pitting its protagonist The Stranger against 12 incredibly stylish bosses. Each encounter played out very different – each boss requiring entirely new strategies to defeat – but it’s all…
Redout 2, the sequel to 34BigThings’s blisteringly fast, wonderfully stylish anti-grav racer, now has a release date and will be speeding onto Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC on 26th May. Building on the acclaimed racing action of its 2016 predecessor, Redout 2 features 36 new tracks (plus mirror variants of each) which can be experienced in its 12-player online races or single-player career campaign – which promises “hundreds” of events from a variety of different modes, including the likes of Arena Races, Time Attacks, Last Man Standing, and Boss Races. Elsewhere, the original game’s extensive customisation options return, with players…
Mega Latios is making its Pokémon Go debut during the new Air Adventures event in the Season of Alola. To get Latios Mega Energy and get a Mega Latios, you must take part in Mega Raids to defeat the Gen 3 variant to add it to your Pokédex. This is a tough Pokémon to take on solo, so we recommend teaming up with other trainers and knowing the best Mega Latios counters, and the Mega Latios weakness to cath the Pokémon, and maybe even get a Shiny Latios if you’re lucky. Nintendo Switch Sports streamer breaks TV, discovers Joy-Con straps are there for a reason
Last week, Nintendo issued a warning for parents, asking them to ensure that their children always stand far enough away from the TV screen to avoid hitting it, and far enough away from others to avoid any unintentional fisticuffs. But alas, even after this warning, and the Wii-era experiences predating this time in our lives, it turns out that many still need to be reminded about the Joy-Cons handy little wrist straps, and why they are actually there. Specifically, when taking part in Nintendo’s latest offering: Switch Sports.Nintendo Switch Sports came out several days ago, and in that time, many…
Elden Ring has now been played with a Fisher Price controller. New Zealand streamer Rudeism (aka Dylan Beck) is known for his controller tinkering and, after a jokey Twitter post from Wario 64, took on the challenge of modifying the kids controller. Over two weeks, he modified the Fisher Price controller into a working Xbox controller and showed off his creation with a spot of Elden Ring. Microsoft says it is gaining console market share globally thanks to the success of Xbox Series X/S. The comments came from Microsoft boss Satya Nadella, speaking during the company’s third quarter results call. Nadella did not say which company it has specifically gained market share from, though quarterly results from US numbers firm NPD this week pointed to Xbox availability being key, compared to the supply-constrained PlayStation. Elden Ring’s Malenia will now heal properly thanks to the latest update. The previous update to the game added a bug where the already notoriously tricky boss was made more difficult by self-healing when joined by a summoned player in multiplayer. Now she’s back to her usual (still tricky) self, along with a couple of other fixes. Read more Source – eurogamer.net All content and images belong to their respected owners.
