When Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2022) released back in October, players noticed that one multiplayer map available in the beta was conspicuously missing from the final game. Indeed, it was something I reported on during release. Now almost two months on, players fear the Valderas Museum will never return. Season One saw the return of fan favourite maps Shoothouse and Shipment, but players criticised the paltry number of maps released. One wonders why Infinity Ward hasn’t released a map that is seemingly complete and ready to ship. But players have taken it upon themselves to answer this question.…

I went into 2022 like many others did, cautiously, and with an exhaustion that came from having endured genuinely world-altering events for a long time prior. For many, January brought with it a collective feeling of uncertainty, as we all slowly tip-toed out of the shadows and looked forward to the approaching light of Spring. The first big releases of the year helped set the tone for what would follow. Elden Ring swallowed up most of the gamers I knew, and went on to spit them out triumphant heroes, reshaped by hundreds of hours of sheer adversity. Sifu did something…

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Meta Quest VR headsets, has agreed to pay $725m to settle a class-action lawsuit which accused the company of allowing Cambridge Analytica to access personal user data without consent. The Cambridge Analytica scandal goes all the way back to 2018, when former Cambridge Analytica employee Christopher Wylie disclosed to The Guardian and The New York Times that the UK-based company had scraped extensive data from Facebook without the explicit consent of users. The scandal led to investigations on both sides of the Atlantic and the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office issuing a £500,000 fine…

The Division 2 launches on Steam on 12th January 2023, Ubisoft has confirmed. The game’s Steam page is now up and running. The Division 2 launches on Steam nearly four years after it came out on PC and console in March 2019. Back then, Ubisoft’s deal with Epic meant the PC versions of its games launched on the Epic Games Store as well as Ubisoft’s own storefront, but not Steam, much to the annoyance of PC gamers. One of my very first buildings in Valheim, located in the warm safety of the meadows, was called ‘Glamping Cabin’. My latest structure, located in the Mistlands, is titled ‘Safety Cave’. It’s a squalid hole inside a hollowed-out rock: an emergency air raid shelter that I can scuttle into when being attacked by a giant blimp. The cave has no decorations, no personality, and was carved out in an act of pure survival. The name hints at just how gruelling the Mistlands experience has been for much of the past month – specifically, since the update was released in early…

The wonderful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge just got a free update that adds CRT (normal or curved) and VCR filters. This nostalgia-fuelled update makes the brawler just that little bit more old-school Saturday morning cartoon. Here’s how it looks: Also of note from the update is the addition of dip switches, a throwback to arcade machines whose dip switches let operators adjust game difficult (and rinse your pocket money in the process). The PlayStation Plus Essential January 2023 monthly games have leaked via the ever reliable Billbil-kun from Dealabs. The headline here is the addition of Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, which came out in November 2019 and is set to get a sequel, Jedi Survivor, in March. The addition of Fallen Order to PS Plus Essential next month is well-timed in that context. Elsewhere, Bethesda’s online-focused RPG Fallout 76 joins PS Plus Essential next month (it’s already in the PlayStation Plus Extra tier). Just yesterday we reported on how Fallout 76 has an impressive 13.5m players four years after its…

Hideo Kojima is taking an “arthouse approach” with the upcoming Death Stranding movie, he’s said. Speaking to IGN, Kojima said he partnered with Barbarian executive producer Alex Lebovici in a bid to avoid making a “blockbuster” film. “I was on video calls with lots of people in Hollywood every week beginning last year, and not just for Death Stranding,” Kojima revealed. Rainbow Six Siege has received its fair share of cheaters over the years, but I have never seen anything quite like this new strategy. Hackers have exploited the ban feed, which alerts players when someone has committed a bannable offence, to display images on other players’ screens. The images being displayed by hackers range from the light-hearted to very much not-safe-for-work. Read more Source – eurogamer.net All content and images belong to their respected owners.
