Hideo Kojima has discussed his mysterious cloud gaming project Microsoft is set to publish, saying companies he’d discussed it with previously thought he was “mad”. Speaking to IGN, the game developer legend revealed the project has been on his mind for some time. “The project we’re working on with Microsoft is one I have been thinking about for five or six years already,” Kojima said. Fallout 76 now has an impressive 13.5 million players, Bethesda has announced. Recounting the past 12 months for the online-focused post-apocalyptic role-playing game, Bethesda said 13.5 million players had dipped into Appalachia over the course of 2022. “Fallout 76 has grown significantly over the past year, with players worldwide experiencing all sort of happenings across Appalachia from travelling roadshows to extraterrestrial invasions!” Bethesda said. It’s been over a year since the release of Halo Infinite and it’s safe to say 343 Industries’ live service experiment has received a mixed response. The developer shared some stats on this first year, with 170 million multiplayer matches played, 50 million campaign missions played, and 16 billion Spartans slayed. Two billion bots were also destroyed, six million Ninja kills were performed, and 130,000 maps were created in Forge. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe received a small patch following its big Wave 3 update, which fixed a couple of bug fixes. The first fix concerns an issue where the image would get “choppy” when playing online in Berlin Byways. The second concerns an issue when playing London Loop, where Lakitu would not drop you off in the right place if you fell off the course. Lakitu has since visited Specsavers. SNES classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles in Time just got online multiplayer. It comes via a beefy update for the excellent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. While Turtles in Time is a truly radical couch co-op brawler, now you can take it into the brave new world of online play, which, if you’d have told 11-year-old me would be a thing back when Turtles in Time first launched in 1992, well, I’d have replied: “what’s online?” Read more Source – eurogamer.net All content and images belong to their respected owners. It took just over a week for someone to speedrun Elden Ring. But the race to the fastest time was only just beginning. The first recorded speedrun clocked in at just under two and a half hours. Two days later the game was completed in under an hour. No sooner had one time been recorded, it was beaten. By April, it had been finished in under ten minutes. Speedrunning a game like Elden Ring, with its gloriously dismal open world, has never really appealed to me. I am a diligent player. Rather than rush, I like to savour every grim…
In just shy of a month, George “Geohot” Hotz has resigned from Twitter. For a quick recap, the former hacker was hired by Elon Musk in November to “fix” Twitter. “That’s what Elon told me my job was, and I will try my hardest to do it,” Hotz shared (via a tweet, of course) following the news of his new position. Square Enix has announced an end to “large scale updates” for embattled Nintendo Switch racer Chocobo GP just nine months after launch. While the game will remain playable and rankings will continue without the use of prize pass levels, no new characters or maps will be released, effectively ending support following the conclusion of Season 5. Meanwhile, sales of mythril, Chocobo GP’s premium currency, have been discontinued. The in-game mythril shop will disappear on 6th January. All purchased mythril becomes “invalid” then, too. Square Enix said it will not issue refunds for purchased mythril. Read more Source – eurogamer.net All…
Live A Live is a short slice of the weird and wonderful world of the JRPG. When it’s wacky, oh boy does it get wacky. One of my favourite stories, set in the near future, is the best episode of the Power Rangers you’ve never seen. Spiky-haired protagonist Akira uses his psychic powers with the help of ‘local businessman’ Matsu, friend of his orphanage, to foil the plot of a biker gang. Along the way you’ll use Akira’s psychic powers in combat to deploy powerful moves such as ‘Mother’s Shame’, which confuses enemies with thoughts of their mothers, so they…
