Playing the Early Access build for Hubris for this week’s episode of VR Corner (above) was a great lesson in not judging a book by its cover.I quickly fell in love with this brand new VR survival adventure game thanks to its incredibly gorgeous visuals and simple-to-grasp yet satisfyingly speedy movement schemes. I feel like I say this a lot, but yes, Hideo Kojima is at it again. The Metal Gear Solid creator has been releasing a steady stream of mysterious teasers for his upcoming game for a while now, and today brings us one more. A closed beta for Final Fantasy 7 Ever Crisis will launch in summer next year. This is the mobile remake of Final Fantasy 7 that was first announced back in February 2021 and originally intended for a release this year. The date by which all new mobile devices sold in the EU must use USB-C charging has been officially confirmed.Previously, a window of autumn 2024 had been set as the deadline. Magic is at the core of Forspoken. Athia is an other-world full of wonder and mysticism and evil sorceresses, while protagonist Frey is given spectacular superhuman elemental powers. There’s a surprising dollop of comedy too among the occult grandeur. Last week, it was The Game Awards. This annual event is a chance for developers and publishers to showcase their upcoming slate of games, with a smattering of awards in there as well. Steam Deck owners who are keen to get their hands on The Last of Us Part 1 when it releases next year, I have good news. The game will be compatible with Valve’s handheld PC. This assurance comes from Naughty Dog’s own Neil Druckmann, who over the weekend told us not to worry as “Ellie and Joel will grace the Steam Deck.” The Last of Us Part 1 remake was officially unveiled earlier this year after months of rumours.
