Brink and Gears Tactics developer Splash Damage is working on a new Transformers game for PC and consoles, which will launch in closed beta next year. Transformers: Reactivate was shown last night at The Game Awards 2022, with a fresh trailer you can see below. Upcoming release Replaced, which is described as a 2.5D “retro-futuristic sci-fi platformer” and looks pretty darn good from what I have seen so far, will launch on Xbox Game Pass next year. Earlier this year, Belarusian-based developer Sad Cat Studio announced it was delaying Replaced’s release into 2023 in light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. “The priority for Sad Cat was for the safety of the team and their families. At last night’s Game Awards, a fairytale prequel for the Bayonetta series was announced called Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. But there’s actually a playable teaser for the game hidden away in Bayonetta 3 – it’s been there all along since launch last month. The teaser shows off the new childlike visuals and hints at the story, but until now it wasn’t clear what the hidden chapter related to. So, there we have it, Microsoft has joined rival Sony (as well as other triple-A publishers) in charging $70 (likely £70) for its games from next year. This means Microsoft first-party games such as Forza Motorsport, Redfall and Starfield will each cost a tenner more at launch. With a boom of a blessed bolter came gameplay of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 during The Game Awards last night, and while the heretical Eurogamer news team shrugged their shoulders, this loyal servant of the Emperor can confidently declare MUCH HYPE. Saber Interactive’s hotly-anticipated (by me) sequel shows Ultramarines Space Marine Lieutenant Titus stomp and shoot and generally smash to bits the xenos scum that is the Tyranids (they’re the evil aliens, Tom). FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have announced Armored Core 6: Fires of the Rubicon, an impressive-looking new entry in its robotic third-person shooter series. Amazon is partnering with Bandai Namco to bring its ambitious-looking new anime-styled MMORPG to the west next year, on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The online free-to-play role-player was previously announced for an early spring 2023 launch in Japan. Amazon is handling publishing duties for its wider launch, due in the second half of the year. Following a tease of a partnership earlier this year, Joe Madureira’s Airship Syndicate studio and Warfare developer Digital Extremes have unveiled the former’s new free-to-play online action-RPG, Wayfinder, coming to PC and consoles next year. After months of speculation, Death Stranding 2 has been officially announced at The Game Awards. This news follows a tease earlier today from creator Hideo Kojima, that showed a blanked out visage with the words “How come?” written across it. Many guessed this face was that of Léa Seydoux, and they were right as she is very much front and centre of Death Stranding 2’s (or DS2’s) announcement trailer, which you can see below.
