Epic Games has removed an ultra-rare Snoop Dogg-themed dance emote which reappeared on sale in Fortnite’s Item Shop shop last night for the first time in more than four years. The emote, named “Tidy”, allows your character to dance like Snoop Dogg in his 2004 song Drop It Like It’s Hot. It’s one of a handful of emotes from Fortnite’s early days thought to use unlicensed dance moves – other examples of which sparked largely-unsuccessful legal threats from individuals keen to take Epic Games to court. Fans were surprised to see the emote return upon the Item Shop’s midnight UK…
New leaks have appeared online which reportedly show details for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s Season 2. Key art from marketing material show-off a Japanese theme, with artwork teasing the return of the classic map Castle (thanks, WhatIfGaming). Castle was originally a multiplayer map in Call of Duty World at War, set in an old Japanese fortress in World War 2. The map most recently made a return in Call of Duty Vanguard, but this would be the first time the map would appear in the franchise’s modern theme of shooters. Here’s everything we learned about The Witcher 3 next-gen patch while at CD Projekt Red
Last week, I travelled to CD Projekt Red to play the long-awaited next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which will be released 14th December – AKA next week. I spent a few hours with the update, playing with the new graphical options, the quality of life improvements, and the quest tied to unlocking gear from the The Witcher Netflix show. And I talked to acting narrative director Philip Webber about it, too.I’ve written more flowerily about what it’s like to go back to the game with all these bells and whistles on, but here, in what I think…
The next-gen update doesn’t transform The Witcher 3, but it does make returning to it a pleasure
It’s 2022, seven years after The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt came out, yet here I am at CD Projekt Red in Poland, playing it. There’s been a whole Cyberpunk 2077 in between – I remember talking to the team around the time Witcher 3 expansion Blood and Wine came out and hearing how excited people were to be moving onto something that wasn’t Witcher, after 10 years of working on it. But here the studio is talking about The Witcher again, about both new games it’s making and new improvements it’s making to that game again, the third game, the…
Earlier this year, we were all surprised to hear that Henry Cavill was stepping away from Netflix’s The Witcher adaptation. In his stead, The Hunger Games’ Liam Hemsworth would be taking over the role of Geralt of Rivia for the show’s fourth season. Now, Netflix is doing what it can to reassure fans that, while this will clearly be a change for the series, it will also bring a “different energy” to the show that the producers are excited about. Speaking at The Witcher: Blood Origin’s UK junket, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich addressed the series’ recasting with a variety of…
Cyberpunk 2077 will be re-released with a Game of the Year edition, developer CD Projekt has confirmed. As you might expect, this package will include next year’s paid-for Phantom Liberty expansion, as well as all other free updates released so far. The announcement of Cyberpunk 2077’s Game of the Year Edition package has raised some eyebrows considering the game’s state in the year that it launched, though the “GOTY Edition” branding has now been so over-used it should hardly come as a surprise. Music-mixing rhythm game Fuser will go offline on 19th December, developer Harmonix announced today. Existing owners of the game will be able to continue playing the game’s Campaign and Quick Play modes with any previously-purchased DLC after this date – though offline only. A blog post on Fuser’s website announced the shutdown of live services last week, and confirmed the game and its DLC would all be withdrawn from sale. Ahead of a formal announcement, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s release date appears to have popped up online. According to Steam, players will be able to head to a galaxy far, far away with Cal Kestis on 16th March, 2023. This date was visible briefly this afternoon – though has now been changed to “coming soon”. Many were expecting Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s release date to be revealed at The Game Awards this Thursday, so we will let you know when this date is made official. Controversial Smash Bros tournament organiser Panda boots out boss following fan allegations
Panda, the eSports organisation at the centre of a high-profile row between Super Smash Bros. fans and Nintendo, has ditched its controversial CEO following complaints about his behaviour. In a statement issued this morning via Twitter, Panda confirmed it had “heard the concerns of the Smash community” and booted out its boss Alan Bunney. The company will now work with “outside advisors to form a temporary interim management committee” as players quit the company’s events in their dozens. It follows a week of bad press for Bunney and his company, as it emerged Nintendo was shutting down a fan-run Smash…
Let’s take a closer look at HBO’s The Last of Us trailer, including Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson’s cameos
This weekend, we got another look at HBO’s upcoming The Last of Us TV adaptation. I am a big The Last of Us fan (something you may have noticed), and have watched this trailer multiple times already. Now, for your pleasure, I have pulled out some of the little details that you may have missed on a first watch. As a quick recap before we dive on in, you can see this trailer below.
