We look at reviews and features, news and videos, and pull out some of the talking points from the week. Those talking points this week are the PlayStation Plus relaunch, which we don’t dwell on because the Newscast tackles it in much more detail. But we do dwell on the new Evil Dead game, which we’ve been playing, and Warner Bros.’ new Smash Bros.’ (how many brothers can there be?) game Multiversus, which we’ve also been playing. Are either of them any good? My…

System of a Down singer Serj Tankian has joined the growing selection of artists contributing to upcoming music-themed first-person shooter Metal: Hellsinger. Metal: Hellsinger, which was revealed back in June 2020, is the work of developer The Outsiders – the studio co-founded by former Battlefield 3 lead designer and Payday 2 director David Goldfarb – and promises to developer plenty of furious gun-based demon-slaying, all synced up to a metal soundtrack. Each of the game’s stages will feature its own track, with the player’s power increasing – alongside the complexity of the music, from atmospheric background ambience all the way…
This week on the Eurogamer Newscast – now also available in audio form! – we’re talking PlayStation Plus Premium, and our thoughts on whether it’s worth the price based on what we know so far. The thing is, there are still several questions about what it will provide – even now, less than a week away from its initial rollout in Asia. What is its full game list? How good will its streaming be? And how soon should we expect newer games like Ratchet & Clank and Horizon Forbidden West to turn up on the service? The biggest difference between…

Either way we were equal parts intrigued and horrified by that latest trailer, so we’ve been playing a little of its closed alpha in our spare time and honestly, we’re still not sure what to make of it. So we decided to have a chat and figure things out. Martin Robinson: So, multiverses…

It’s nearly time for the inaugural Game Club and we’re so excited about it. No one has ever invited us to something like a book club before! And that’s exactly what this is: a chance for us all – you and us – to wear knitted jumpers and talk passionately about a game we’ve all been playing.
