What is the Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition?
Per CD Projekt, this edition of the game contains “the base game of Cyberpunk 2077, taking place in the dark future of Night City, and Phantom Liberty, a spy-thriller story set in the walled-off district of Dogtown.” It also features the “free Update 2.0, which overhauled many of the game’s systems, introducing dynamic skill trees, high-octane vehicle combat, and enhanced enemy and police AI — as well as adding new weapons, vehicles, and clothes.” To see a full list of what was included in this update, check out our breakdown of all Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 updates and changes.
Not only is it exciting to have the 2.0 update for the base game in this edition, which provided some much-needed improvements, but having the Phantom Liberty expansion bundled in there as well makes it a really great investment. Upon release, we gave the expansion a 9/10 in our review, stating that “between a more sophisticated level of storytelling with excellent performances, smarter insights on the cyberpunk genre and its dystopian themes, and landing on top of a much-improved gameplay experience thanks to its fresh 2.0 update, Phantom Liberty marks a new chapter for Cyberpunk 2077”.
