We already knew that Behaviour Interactive was teaming up to make a narrative-driven game in collaboration with Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games. And today, the studio behind Dead by Daylight has announced The Casting of Frank Stone: a new story-based game set in the Dead by Daylight universe.
The Casting of Frank Stone is a new narrative-driven game set in the Dead by Daylight universe. According to Behaviour Interactive, The Casting of Frank Stone will focus on a group of friends as they investigate a steel mill and unravel a gruesome mystery.
The pairing is interesting as both Behaviour and Supermassive have established themselves as well-known horror game developers in the industry, each with unique strengths — Supermassive is known for making story-driven, choose-your-own-adventure games. In contrast, Behaviour is known for its Dead by Daylight franchise, which delivers tense gameplay and introduces a diverse list of original and licensed killers with a unique power that makes each player different.
The announcement of The Casting of Frank Stone comes at an interesting time for the Dead by Daylight franchise, as Behaviour Interactive has announced various ways it is growing the franchise. The Casting of Franke Stone is one of two spin-off games set in the Dead by Daylight universe, not to mention a Dead by Daylight movie adaptation currently in the works.
The Casting of Frank Stone is set to be released sometime next year on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
