Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 Are the Next Activision Blizzard Games Coming to GeForce Now

Diablo IV and Overwatch will soon be available to stream on Nvidia’s cloud gaming service, GeForce Now, the company confirmed during its CES 2024 keynote.

This announcement comes as no surprise as it is part of a deal that Nvidia and Activision Blizzard’s parent company, Microsoft, struck last year that would bring Xbox first-party games onto GeForce Now. Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 are the second and third Activision Blizzard games to be added to GeForce Now, with the first one, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, added to the service last November.

Overwatch 2 was released in early access in October 2022, with a full release a year later. A sequel to the 2016 game Overwatch, both are team-based hero shooters. In our review of Overwatch 2, we said the game’s “switch to a 5v5 format breathes new life into what was once the sharpest shooter around. It just hasn’t quite recaptured all of that glory – yet.”

Diablo IV was released last July and became a mega-hit for Blizzard despite some controversy regarding updates and monetization. Nevertheless, Blizzard has been regularly updating Diablo IV, and its first post-launch expansion, Vessel of Hatred, is slated to be released later this year.

In our review of Diablo IV, we said: “Diablo 4 is a stunning sequel with near-perfect endgame and progression design that makes it absolutely excruciating to put down.”

Nvidia has not shared a release date for when both games will be available on the service, but says both will be added to GeForce Now “soon.”

New games aside, Nvidia also made additional announcements regarding its cloud gaming service, including confirmation that Ultimate membership tier subscribers will soon be able to use cloud G-Synch technology to match the refresh rate of G-Sync compatible monitors and that all GeForce Now members with Android smartphone users will soon be able to stream games from the service at 1440p resolution.
