EA Sports has revealed Jude Bellingham as EA Sports FC 25 cover star.
The England and Real Madrid midfielder is the cover star of both the Standard and Ultimate Edition of FC 25. He’s the youngest global cover star to feature on an EA Sports football game, including its previous FIFA games.
The FC 25 Standard Edition cover was created using the image of Bellingham posing in his now famous Belligol celebration after scoring the stoppage-time winner in front of his home crowd at the Bernabéu during El Clásico in April.
EA Sports revealed the FC 25 Ultimate Edition cover earlier this week, which features legends such as David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane alongside Bellingham.
Bellingham is the perfect choice for FC 25 cover star, given the incredible season he’s had for Real Madrid. This season, his first for the club, he won the Champions League, LaLiga, and the Spanish Super Cup, scoring loads of goals in the process. This summer he helped England reach the Euro 2024 final with standout goals, including one astonishing, tournament-saving overhead kick.
“I played this game with my brother all the time growing up, and I’ve always thought about how incredible it would be to one day be featured on the cover,” commented Bellingham. “There have been so many iconic players on the cover over the years, and I am delighted to be the most recent English player to be bestowed with this honor since 2011. I’m also truly honored to be featured on the cover of Ultimate Edition with true legends of the game both past and present in Beckham, Bonmatí, Buffon and Zidane.”
A prior leak revealed FC 25’s release date is, unsurprisingly, September 27, 2024. The $99.99 Ultimate Edition is reportedly set to come with seven days of early access starting on September 20, with EA Play subscribers once again set for a 10-hour trial. Platforms are unannounced, but expect FC 25 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, PC, and Nintendo Switch, as last year’s game was.
EA’s soccer outings were previously known as FIFA but saw a shift following the expiration of a nearly 30-year partnership with the FIFA brand. The fallout has resulted in the name change to EA Sports FC and a new logo as the series has moved to kick off a new beginning. It got its start with FC 24 last year.
