How Every Kilometer Tells a Story in Truck Driver: The Dutch Connection

    • Ashwin Chauthi, Operations Manager, Soedesco

    Summary

    • Experience a narrative-driven trucking adventure about mentorship, family, and belonging in Truck Driver: The Dutch Connection, is available today for Xbox Series X|S
    • Follow Felix, a veteran driver, and Lucas, a rookie chasing his first big break.
    • Explore a Dutch-inspired fictional world built in Unreal Engine 5 with ray tracing, dynamic weather, and steering-wheel support.

Truck Driver: The Dutch Connection takes place in a new era of trucking, where AI dispatchers work alongside human drivers. The trucking industry is thriving, and the open road has never felt more alive.

The third entry in Soedesco’s trucking franchise keeps the authentic feel of hauling cargo but adds something rare for the genre: a story. You’ll meet Felix, a veteran driver with over thirty years behind the wheel, and Lucas, a newcomer eager to prove himself and make his mark. What begins as mentorship soon becomes a father-and-son bond forged through shared passion, countless kilometers, and midnight deliveries.

    The Story Behind the Wheel

Truck Driver: The Dutch Connection Asset

Truck Driver: The Dutch Connection tells its story through the eyes of two drivers, letting you experience Felix’s seasoned expertise alongside Lucas’s passion and eager ambition. After quitting school to chase his lifelong passion, Lucas sets out to prove himself behind the wheel. Thousands of kilometers away from home, seasoned trucker Felix has his own reasons for moving to Europe. Every haul, rest stop, and repair reveals new layers of their relationship. It’s an emotional story told through gameplay, not just cutscenes but quiet reflections in the cab, tense deliveries through storms, and conversations that linger long after the engine shuts off. Showing how mentorship, experience, and trust grow in a trucking life.

Every route advances both plot and character: a stormy highway tests Felix’s patience, while a long night on the road helps Lucas find confidence in his abilities. The storytelling emerges organically, allowing you to feel the connection and truly the trill of the open road.

Inspired by the Beauty of the Netherlands and Europe

Truck Driver: The Dutch Connection Asset

Cruise through a richly detailed open world in this fictional world inspired by the Netherlands and other parts of Europe. From rolling fields and charming villages to iconic windmills turning gracefully in the breeze, every road offers a new sight worth admiring. Built on Unreal Engine 5, it captures every texture — rain streaking across mirrors, neon lights reflecting off wet asphalt, and sunlight filtering through morning fog. Ray tracing and dynamic weather ensure no two drives feel the same.

    The Feel of Authenticity

The Dutch Connection isn’t a strict simulator; it’s a driving game that blends believable physics with pick-up-and-play handling. Every truck responds with weight and nuance, and steering wheel support adds a deeper level of immersion by putting you right in the driver’s seat. The sensation grounds the story, reminding you that connection here is physical as much as emotional.

    Two Ways to Travel

You can choose Story Mode, following Felix and Lucas’s narrative arc across structured routes, or Freedom-to-Roam Mode, exploring at your own pace while completing jobs. Adding a playful twist, the Vista System turns exploration into a mini treasure hunt.

Scattered across world are hidden locations, statues, and other iconic sights. You can use drone images in a dedicated menu as hints, then search the world to snap the perfect in-game photo. This system blends sightseeing, puzzle-solving, and photography, adding an engaging side adventure to Freedom-to-Roam for those who want more than cargo missions. Both modes encourage introspection, a rare invitation to slow down, breathe, and appreciate the meditative rhythm of driving.

    The Road Ahead

While Truck Driver: The Dutch Connection is a complete experience from day one, it’s also built with growth in mind. The development team at Kyodai has plans to continue supporting the game with updates and new content, just as they did with Truck Driver: The American Dream. You can look forward to ongoing improvements and new ways to connect with the world and its stories in the months ahead. The road doesn’t end here, it’s just beginning.

Truck Driver: The Dutch Connection Asset

Whether you’re a longtime fan of the franchise or a newcomer experience the thrill and depth of trucking, this journey invites you to find the beauty in stillness, the humanity in hard work, and the connection in every kilometer.
