When we came up with the idea for Undisputed, our goal was always to make the most authentic boxing video game possible. With that in mind, we knew we wanted players to experience the action as the boxing greats, such as Joe Frazier, Canelo Alvarez, Roy Jones Jr. and Katie Taylor, but for the ultimate immersion, we knew we had to let people create themselves in the game too.
Get In The Ring
The Character Creator that you’ll experience in Undisputed allows you to create a boxer that looks exactly how you want them to, from weight class to hair, skin tone to reach, tattoos to in-ring outfit. But boxing isn’t just about your fashion style – it’s about your fight style too. That’s why we’ve given you the ability to pick your own stance, punches, blocks, and even distribute your stat points how you see fit. On top of that, you can equip a series of traits that act as unique modifiers too.
You’ve got a boxer who looks just like you and has the punching power and stamina to rival that of Terence Crawford… but now what?
Craft Your Career
Undisputed offers an in-depth Career Mode where you can experience the journey that many boxers have been through in real life.
From humble beginnings as an up-and-coming amateur, you must make careful career-impacting choices and win your bouts to advance up the ranks. This isn’t just a case of taking one fight after another. Just like boxers in real life, you need to think about your rest and recovery, do your media obligations, and even negotiate prize payouts.
It’s not just your choices that have an impact in Career Mode. The AI is smart, and evolves and grows as you do.
Asif Habib, Career Mode Gameplay Director, explains: “The aim has always been to create the most in-depth Career Mode possible, that not only represents the world of boxing, but gives players total freedom to make meaningful choices to their story.
As you progress week by week in Undisputed, other characters will also evolve, whether they are negotiating contracts, improving their abilities, making title defences, on the treatment table or even cancelling fights. The AI is constantly learning and changing, to the point where fighters even retire when new, young, hungry fighters take their place.
But that’s just part of what makes Career Mode so unique. We wanted the AI fighters to have their own personalities, not limited to just physical attributes. They also have their own ‘ringcraft rating’. This rating shows how intelligent the fighter is during the fight, so one with low physical attributes but with very high ‘ringcraft rating’ will pose a different challenge for you as a player.”
Career Goals
An additional element we added to Undisputed to make it feel even more authentic is the licensed staff. As you start to win more fights and make a name for yourself in Career Mode, you get the opportunity to appoint real life coaches, cutmen, and managers to your team like Egis Klimas, Amer Abdallah, and Grant Smith. Each of these staff has their own disciplines and abilities, which can help shape the direction of your career – so choose wisely!
The path to glory won’t be easy. You’ll experience setbacks, injuries, and the toughest of fights along the way. But for the most dedicated, who can overcome those challenges, becoming the undisputed champion awaits you!
