Ahoy there, Cassette Beasts players! The new version 1.8, Sunshine Update, which launches today, brings several new features to the island of New Wirral that will enhance the adventure for both new and returning players!
Sunny days ahead! Fan-favourite character Sunny, who appears in the game as part of the main story, finally carves her own path! After the main quest events, Sunny will be available to partner up with for the first time as she sets off on a new questline to tie up loose ends regarding her past as one of the strange Landkeepers that haunt the island of New Wirral.
Your first question might be, “Why is this update coming to Cassette Beasts?” Cassette Beasts already feels stuffed with content now, but Sunny was a fan favourite character from the original release of the game who felt like she had a lot of further potential to explore as a character. Going back to revisit her story and personality with new writing and dialogue has been a lot of fun for us as developers, and we’re hoping this new update lives up to the expectations of our community.
Sunny’s questline introduces new monsters – including her own signature tape form, Pawper! Pawper is a large beast-type that kind of resembles a bear costume… is the real monster inside? It’s best not to think about it! Pawper’s signature move, “Bear Hug” hits the target with a move that transfers negative status effects over to them.
You can now take to the skies with new wings! This update lets you customize your gliding wings after recording certain monsters. If you want even more wings to traverse the skies with on your adventure, the new premium Wings Pack DLC includes even more various themed wings to customise your character.

Fuse monster forms. Getting close to your companion has benefits–while transformed you can combine your strengths to gain the upper hand in battle! Any two monster forms can be fused to produce unique, fully-animated new fusion forms.
Explore a rich open world. Certain monster abilities can be used in human form. You’ll need these to help you get around, solve puzzles, and locate dungeons. Glide, fly, swim, climb, dash, go invisible, or turn magnetic!
Travel alongside a diverse cast of human companions. Never fight alone! Form bonds, spend time together, and help your selected partner complete personal goals to become a better team.
Master a deep battle system. Take advantage of elemental chemistry to apply extra buffs or debuffs alongside your attack, or even alter your opponent’s elemental type!

Team up in online multiplayer to trade Beasts, Challenge your friend to 1v1 duals, or take on a fearsome raid Beast with up to 8 friends to reap great rewards!
