PlayStation is kicking off 2024 with a bang as it gears up to present its first State of Play of the year this week. At over 40 minutes long and with extended looks at games like Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin, the show looks to be a promising one.

We here at IGN will be carrying the stream and this guide will provide you with everything you need to know to watch the latest State of Play, including when it starts, a list of places you can watch it with us, and what you can expect.

PlayStation State of Play January 2024 Start Time

The first PlayStation State of Play of the year will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 2pm PT/5pm ET/10pm GMT. If you live in Australia, that translates to 9am AEDT on Thursday, Feb. 1. As previously mentioned, this State of Play will run for over 40 minutes.

Don’t turn off the stream after the show ends, however, as IGN’s PlayStation experts will be hosting a live Podcast Beyond! right after the State of Play that will break down all the big reveals from the show!

What to Expect from the PlayStation State of Play January 2024

While PlayStation isn’t willing to reveal all the secrets this State of Play contains, it has shared the show will be over 40 minutes long and will feature over 15 games. It also shared we will be getting extended looks at Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin.

Furthermore, we’ll get a new look at other games that are headed to PS5 and PS VR2 in 2024 and beyond.

As for what else we may be seeing, Hideo Kojima may have teased that Death Stranding 2 will be part of the festivities as he shared the broadcast details for the State of Play and may want his fans to tune in. PlayStation did say we will be getting “guest appearances from some of the most talented minds in gaming,” and Kojima does fall into that category!

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Helldivers 2 are also around the corner, and they very well may get one last look before they are released on Feb. 29 and Feb. 8, respectively. We are also looking forward to such games as Skull and Bones, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Destiny 2: The Final Shape, Black Myth: Wukong, DLC for Final Fantasy 16, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Silent Hill 2, Star Wars: Outlaws, The Plucky Squire, and many more.

You never know, we may get some surprises from PlayStation’s first party titles as well, including Marvel’s Wolverine! If we want to get overly optimistic, we could always hope for a look at the future of Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us, Horizon, Ratchet & Clank, and even God of War. I know, I know, those are a lot less likely, but never say never!
