S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Revealed for Consoles – Xbox Partner Preview 2024

UPDATE: As expected, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy was announced during Xbox Partner Preview March 2024, but the big surprise is it has shadow-dropped on Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S.

The Legends of the Zone bundle – available on the Microsoft Store for $39.99 — includes all three games that make up the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Trilogy: Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat — or you can pick up each game individually for $19.99.
In a post on Xbox Wire, Microsoft said: “Every element from the original games has been maintained and faithfully ported to console thanks to the hard work of GSC Game World and their partners at Mataboo. This all makes for a great opportunity for Xbox gamers everywhere to get some foundational knowledge of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.’s universe in the lead-up to the launch of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, coming day-one to Game Pass on September 5, 2024.”

The version available today for Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S will be close to the original version of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. experience on PC, Microsoft added. Xbox One players will finally be able to dive into the franchise, and those on Xbox Series X and S can enjoy the game in a high-fidelity mode via backward compatibility.

Then, later this year, GSC Game World will release a patch for Xbox Series X and S version that will bring “additional graphical enhancements and other features”. The console versions will also have mod support via mod.io, but this too will be a feature to roll out later.

Check out our roundup of everything announced during Xbox Partner Preview March 2024 for more.

ORIGINAL STORY: Pre-orders for an unannounced S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy have gone live in Japan, suggesting an announcement during today’s Xbox Partner Preview Event.

Gematsu reported pre-orders for the collection on PlayStation 4 went live on Japanese retailers alongside a June 27 release date. It includes S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, and marks the series’ debut on consoles.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, developed by GSC Game World and published by the now defunct THQ, launched on PC only in March 2007.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was well-received for its post-apocalyptic, alternative reality Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, as well as its non-linear storyline. Prequel Clear Sky followed in 2008, with sequel Call of Pripyat launching in 2010.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is due out in September on Xbox Series X and S and PC, and may also appear during the Xbox Partner Preview Event, which kicks off today, March 6 at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK.
