Save 50% Off the Keychron K12 Pro QMK/VIA 60% Mechanical Keyboard

Amazon currently has the Keychron K12 Pro wireless/wired mechanical keyboard for $62.50 shipped after a 50% off clippable coupon. This 2023 release keyboard has a lot of premium features for its price, like a solid aluminum frame, QMK/VIA support, wireless and wired connectivity, double-shot PBT keycaps, and more.

50% Off the Keychron K12 Pro 60% Mechanical Keyboard

The Keychron K12 Pro has a very compact 60% layout with 61 keys. At this size the numpad and arrow keys are missing. Both Mac and Windows keycaps are included. You can choose to equip your K12 Pro with pre-lubed Keychron K Pro Brown or Red mechanical switches. They’re similar to Cherry MX keys of the same color in terms of key travel and actuation force. The sockets are hot-swappable, so you can easily change them out with most 3-pin and 5-pin switches out there, including Cherry, Gateron, and Kaihl. The keycaps are made of double-shot PBT for extra resistance against wear and legend fading. Screw-in stabilizers prevent the larger keys from being too wobbly.

The K12 Pro has a sturdy aluminum frame for durability. The PCB board is mounted on a solid steel plate sandwiched between sound-absorbing foam and a thick silicone dampening bottom pad. The south facing RGBs shine under the keycaps (the keycaps themselves are opaque) with plenty of customizable options. The K12 Pro can connect via wired (USB Type-C) or wireless (WiFi or Bluetooth) with the flip of a switch. In fact, you can connect to up to three separate devices simultaneously. There’s a built-in 4,000mAh lithium-ion battery that provides up to 72 hours of use on a single charge.

Like other Keychron “Pro” models, the K12 Pro keys are mappable via the open source QMK/VIA firmware. Every key can be remapped and macros are supported in Windows, macOS, and Linux. Since it can all be configured in your browser, there’s no need to download any bloated software app.

    Who is Keychron?

Keychron might not be as well known amongst the gamers compared to brands like Razer, Corsair, Logitech, or SteelSeries, but they are a familiar brand amongst the keyboard modding community. Several of their keyboard models start out as crowdfunded ideas on Kickstarter. They offer a huge range of keyboards with features that you wouldn’t find in most mainstream keyboards like pre-lubed hot-swappable mechanical keys, gaskets for improved sound profile, south-facing RGB LEDs, a hefty all-metal chassis, wired and wireless dual connectivity, and more. If you’re unwilling to jump into the rabbit hole of diy-ing your own modded custom keyboard, Keychron is pretty much the next best thing.
