We’re excited to announce that The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin launches on PlayStation 5 on January 28, 2026.

Set in the world of the iconic Japanese manga and anime series, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is a completely original story that invites players to explore the kingdom of Britannia like never before. Whether you’re venturing out solo or teaming up with friends, the game offers a deep, fully-featured open-world RPG experience packed with exploration, real-time combat, and player-driven adventure.

This is not a retelling of the anime – it’s a new beginning.

    Begin your journey as Tristan

Players will take on the role of Tristan, a young adventurer drawn into a multiversal crisis that threatens to unravel the world. With mysterious powers awakening within him and strange anomalies appearing across Britannia, Tristan sets out on a quest that will lead him through forgotten ruins, legendary battlefields, and rifts in space and time.

For newcomers, no knowledge of the series is required – Tristan’s story is self-contained and approachable, offering the perfect entry point into the world of The Seven Deadly Sins. For longtime fans, the narrative expands the universe under the supervision of series creator Nakaba Suzuki, weaving in familiar faces and original characters alike. Be sure to check out today’s newly revealed gameplay for a first look at some of these additions.

A seamless open world full of things to do

Britannia is brought to life with Unreal Engine 5, featuring expansive biomes, shifting weather, and immersive detail at every turn. You’ll traverse mountains, forests, villages, and ancient ruins—all teeming with activity, secrets, and rewards.

Here’s just a taste of what you can do:

    • Catch wild creatures using magical sealing tools and add them to your collection
    • Go fishing in lakes, rivers, and oceans, each with unique species to discover
    • Mine and gather resources, from rare ores to magical herbs
    • Craft gear, food, and quest items from gathered material
    • Glide, swim, and climb to reach hidden locations and puzzle areas
    • Solve environmental riddles and unlock secrets tied to the world’s history

Everything is built to feel natural, rewarding curiosity and exploration.

    Fast-paced, real-time combat

Combat in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is real-time, strategic, and deeply customizable. Each character in your party has distinct fighting styles and powerful skills, some focused on melee, others on ranged magic or support roles. You can freely switch between them in battle, chaining together flashy combos and tactical counters.

As you progress, you’ll encounter massive bosses, rare enemies, and multi-phase encounters that require careful team composition and timing. Leveling up your team, enhancing equipment, and unlocking new skills adds layers of progression and strategy throughout your journey.

Play your way: with friends or on your own

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is a free-to-play open-world RPG that offers a complete and satisfying experience solo. While the game is designed with full single-player depth, it also includes optional multiplayer features for those who want to connect and explore together.

With seamless co-op, up to five players can join forces to tackle dungeons, take down world bosses, and share discoveries across the map. You can hop into co-op at your own pace, with no pressure to play online – your adventure unfolds on your terms, whether you’re going solo or linking up with friends.

A multiversal story with epic scale

The story of Origin spans fractured dimensions, alternate timelines, and converging destinies. As you uncover the cause of the space-time rift destabilizing Britannia, you’ll meet new allies, clash with fearsome enemies, and forge your path in a narrative that twists and turns in unexpected ways.

The world itself evolves as you explore it: characters remember your actions, hidden areas open with time, and your choices ripple through the story.
