The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Trailer Teases New Stories for Rick and Michonne

AMC has released a full The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live trailer that carves into two minutes of footage featuring Rick and Michonne’s new journey.

It’s a meaty video that teases some of the franchise’s biggest action sequences yet while still promising to touch on storylines viewers might remember from the original show. It’s nice to see Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes and Danai Gurira’s Michonne sharing a screen once again, but they’ve got other faces joining them in The Ones Who Live, too. This includes Terry O’Quinn (Lost), other Civic Republic Military troops, and Matthew Jeffers, as well as the return of Pollyanna McIntosh’s Jadis.

The original The Walking Dead show had a long run but came to an end when Season 11 concluded in late 2022. Although the show’s audience eventually tapered off toward the end of its run, that doesn’t change the fact that it will remain as an important part of television history forever.

The series’ popularity inevitably led to a horde of spinoffs. This includes projects like Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond, as well as still-airing shows, such as The Walking Dead: Dead City and Daryl Dixon.

The Ones Who Live, meanwhile, has been in the works for years, though it wasn’t always propped up as a series. It was originally sold to audiences as the franchise’s first feature-length movie that would spotlight the return of original protagonist, Rick Grimes. Although Rick and Lincoln did indeed return to mow down walkers once again, the project eventually shifted to become the six-episode story that it is now.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live premiers on Amc and Amc+ on February 25, 2024.
