Ubisoft is shutting down more online services for its older games like Assassin’s Creed 2 and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood in January 2024.
As reported by Eurogamer, an update on Ubisoft’s support website confirmed the publisher is “decommissioning” the online services of these games on January 25. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Trials Evolution are also affected.
“Decommissioning the online services for older games is something we do not take lightly, however, it is also a necessity as the technology behind these services becomes outdated,” Ubisoft said. “As a result, we will decommission the online services of several games across different platforms on 25 January 2024.”
The publisher had previously shut down online services for some of its older games, including the likes of Assassin’s Creed 2 and others in this latest batch, but these further shutdowns are for different platforms than those previously decommissioned.
Players will soon be unable to play multiplayer, link Ubisoft accounts in-game, use online features, or collect Ubisoft Connect rewards for the games affected.
