Adversary Briefing: The Cyborgs

By replacing their last remnants of humanity with inferior cybernetics, they reshaped mind and body into wicked weapons designed solely for violence and warfare.

An unprovoked assault on Super Earth’s loyal citizens ignited ferocious battles between the two sides during the First Galactic War. Many lives were lost, but the Helldivers – and justice – ultimately prevailed over the rewired, radicalized terrorists.

Magnanimously granted the opportunity for redemption through positive rehabilitative labor camps, the Cyborg threat was eradicated… or so we thought.

In the ice-choked expanse of Cyberstan, the Cyborgs launched a calculated campaign of deception – creating the bloodthirsty Automatons and staging a false-flag Bot invasion of their home world in order to vanish from Super Earth’s sensors.

Until now.

The techno-terrorists have suddenly re-emerged to execute a single core program: enslave, eradicate, and annihilate the galaxy.

We beat them once, Helldivers. And it was so nice, we just have to do it twice.

Designed to churn out the Cyborg’s mechanical monstrosities, massive Factory Cities dominate the Cyberstan skyline. Heavily defended, these imposing structures feed the ever-hungry Automaton war machine.

A stealth-focused approach is advisable – but not mandatory – to gain rightful entry. Once inside, the curious Helldiver can encounter a wide array of efficient, creative, and deeply unpleasant ways to die from hostile Bots to toxic waste, automated military defenses and more, including several newly-cataloged Cyborg units:

• Cyborg Radicals: Brainwashed since birth and swollen with naive bravado, Cyborg Radicals throw their lives away for a warped imitation of “Freedom”. In reality, they are devoted to violence alone. This barbarous fanaticism is a grim reminder of why the Cyborgs can no longer be considered human.

• Cyborg Agitators: Craven manipulators encased in armor, Agitators prefer others to die in their place to safeguard their false ideology. Armed with plasma weaponry and blinded by extremist zeal, they will violently turn on any who don’t share their delusions.

• Cyborg Vox Engine: Towering propaganda machines that broadcast nothing but lies and heavy fire. Any Helldiver engaging this machine is advised to silence its anti-Democratic rhetoric with explosives, aggressive patriotic singing, or approved combinations of both.
