Let’s go off script for today’s (typically multi-platform) daily deals. ‘PS5 Enhanced Pro’ logos have been surreptitiously appearing on products in the PlayStation Store, many of them unmentioned in Sony’s official announcements for said game-improving feature of its PS5 Pro console. When I began cataloging them all, the list blew out to 50+ items. That’s more than enough for a dedicated article, so let’s do that!
Meanwhile, in our regularly scheduled daily retro news, I’m celebrating the 28th birthday of Tekken 2, a 3D fighter phenomenon. Though I owned and adored Virtua Fighter 2 on my Saturn, I was still highly envious of a mate who had this on PlayStation. Glorious ten-hit comboing and an already generous roster that unlocked out to 25 fighters (after a dozen playthroughs) had me especially green-eyed, as did every single frame of this jaw-dropping pre-rendered intro. I can recall thinking, “Pffft, game graphics are never, ever going to get that good.”
