Here, The Last of Us&#8217; TV showrunner Craig Mazin confirmed he had spoken with McConaughey about playing Joel.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;I actually never talked to Mahershala,&#8221; he confirmed. &#8220;I did talk to Matthew.
