Ubisoft has rolled out update 1.0.5 for Assassin\u2019s Creed Mirage<\/a>, which aims to increase stability across platforms, while finally granting players the ability to toggle off the game\u2019s controversial chromatic aberration graphical feature.<\/p>\n

Patch 1.0.5 is set to drop on November 7 at 7am ET, and will have a file size ranging between 3.5GB to 5.8GB depending on the platform, with the largest update file targeting the PlayStation 4 version of the game. One of the biggest changes coming with the update is the ability to turn off chromatic aberration, a graphical option that adds distortion to a scene in order to simulate the real-world effect you get when shooting with a slightly out of focus camera lens.<\/p>\n

Last month, Ubisoft announced it was working on a patch that would let players remove the effect<\/a>, after AC fans took to social media to complain about its heavy handed use in the open-world game<\/a>. Naturally, the PC community swiftly took matters into their own hands, with a mod to switch off the controversial feature appearing on Nexus Mods less than a week after Mirage\u2019s October 5 release.<\/p>\n

With today’s update console players can finally join their PC brethren in exploring Baghdad free of the graphical menace. The 1.0.5 update also addressed a number of quest issues and bugs that have been plaguing the game since launch, while introducing a slew of graphical, user interface, and animation improvements, along with improved support for those playing with the OWO haptic suit<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While many players embraced the changes, others remained frustrated at the lack of New Game+ for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and called on Ubisoft to work on the feature for a future update. While New Game + has existed in a number of Assassin’s Creed titles in the past, its worth noting that Ubisoft opted not to include it in the series’ previous mainline title, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla<\/a>.<\/p>\n
