In <em><strong>Times &amp; Galaxy<\/strong><\/em>, you\u2019ll chase down scoops as the newest robo-intern of a trusted holopaper. Your assignments might initially seem less than glamorous, like intersolar cat shows and underground dirt fairs\u2014you are an intern, after all. Drawing on his past career offered new opportunities for well-established conversation systems.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"xwsrc-block-content-quote\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns\">\n<aside class=\"wp-block-column column--quote pullquote flex-basis-25\">\n<div class=\"is-style-left\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>In Times &amp; Galaxy, we\u2019ve turned information into a collectible.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"source\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tBen Gelinas, Creative Director\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<div class=\"wp-block-column column--content flex-basis-50\">\n<div class=\"acf-innerblocks-container\">\n<p>\u201cIn <em>Times &amp; Galaxy<\/em>, we\u2019ve turned information into a collectible,\u201d he adds, \u201cwhich excited me from a narrative standpoint. It\u2019s always so tricky to combine narrative elements with gameplay.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Build-A-Story feature breaks each story down into five parts: headline, lede, nut graf (a summarizing, \u2018in a nutshell\u2019 paragraph), key quote, and color context. Your options for each will expand as you pull quotes from conversations and scour levels for context and clues. Depending on how you frame what you\u2019ve discovered, your story can turn out sensational, informational, or \u201calien\u201d interest\u2014each with lasting consequences for your paper\u2019s reputation and readership.<\/p>\n<p>Gelinas notes that it\u2019s not so much about finding the \u201cright\u201d answer as it is deciding how best to present what you find.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t want to do a binary,\u201d he says. \u201cI didn\u2019t want to do \u2018good\u2019 or \u2018bad\u2019. Having three extremes makes things more complicated. Galaxy<\/em>, Gelinas built his narrative team mostly out of former and current journalists, with histories in alt-weeklies and student journalism, to lend their lived experience with the craft\u2014and to help shape the 100-plus memorable characters that populate the game, both on and off the news ship.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/xxboxnews.blob.core.windows.net\/prod\/sites\/2\/2024\/02\/conversation-1b4044dfe291f854bbfa.jpg\" alt=\"Times &amp; Galaxy<\/em> to reflect that: I wanted to fill it with very memorable weirdos\u2026 \u200b\u200bAnd then you get to join them and decide what kind of weirdo you are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Times &amp;
