Before Helldivers 2\u2019s explosive launch, Arrowhead and publisher Sony had signaled mechs would arrive at some point after the game came out. Since then, Helldivers 2 has seen a glut of gameplay leaks<\/a> showing off officially unavailable stratagems, including the upcoming mechs<\/u><\/a>. The community has a number of explanations, one of which is that cheaters are unlocking the ability to use these unreleased stratagems in live lobbies by accessing the game\u2019s files.<\/p>\n

The mech shown off in Arrowhead\u2019s tweet is the EXO-45 Patriot Exosuit, which has a minigun and a missile launcher. Based on footage of the mechs, they\u2019ll be set down on the battlefield by a dropship. Helldivers can jump in and out from the back.<\/p>\n

They look particularly powerful, which suggests they\u2019re use will be limited. That, or Arrowhead and game master Joel<\/a> plans to make Helldivers 2 even harder to compensate for groups of players stomping about in all-conquering mechs.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a lot happening in the world of Helldivers 2, including a recent new strategy that involves hugging<\/a>. The galactic war continues, of course, as players await the game\u2019s first major patch that will, Arrowhead has signaled, make balance changes.<\/p>\n

This week, IGN reported on how Helldivers 2 has become one of the surprise hits of 2024 since launching in February, topping the charts on Steam<\/u><\/a> and reportedly selling around three million copies<\/u><\/a>.
