The pair will build a team to work on what\u2019s coming next for Battlefield.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, work on Iron Man continues, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ea.com\/ea-studios\/motive\/news\/motive-joins-battlefield-update-from-patrick-klaus-gm\">Klaus said in a blog post<\/a>. \u201cIn parallel, development continues to move forward on our Iron Man project, led by Olivier Proulx (Executive Producer) and Ian Frazier (Creative Director),\u201d said Klaus. \u201cThe team made excellent progress this year, hitting a major internal milestone and laying a robust foundation for the journey ahead. Iron Man remains an important priority for Motive, and I\u2019m very proud of the work we\u2019ve accomplished so far.\u201d<\/p>\n<section data-transform=\"ignvideo\" data-slug=\"iron-man-game-announced-by-ea-motive-ign-news\" data-loop=\"\"><\/section>\n<p>Klaus did not offer any new assets of the Iron Man game or a release window. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/iron-man-game-announced-by-ea-motive\"><u>Iron Man game was announced in September 2022<\/u><\/a> as &#8220;an all-new single-player, action-adventure&#8221; game and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/marvel-and-ea-sign-three-game-deal-starting-with-iron-man\"><u>the first of three Marvel video games<\/u><\/a> coming from publisher EA. Then, in October 2023, Motive confirmed it was developing Iron Man using Unreal Engine 5. At the time, Iron Man was said to be Motive\u2019s focus after the well-received Dead Space Remake came out earlier that year. &#8220;We&#8217;re still early in pre-production and taking our time to make sure we set the best possible foundation for development&#8221; EA Motive said at the time. &#8220;But already, we\u2019re finding so many opportunities to explore story, design and gameplay with Iron Man, and it\u2019s exciting to see the fantasy start coming alive.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, in February this year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/ea-to-lay-off-around-670-to-advance-the-way-we-work\"><u>EA announced plans to lay off around 670 workers<\/u><\/a>, cancel or close games, and move away from future licensed intellectual property, calling into question the status of the Iron Man game among others. EA currently has several confirmed Star Wars and Marvel games in development, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/cal-kestis-actor-in-the-process-of-making-star-wars-jedi-3\"><u>a third Jedi game<\/u><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/games\/black-panther-ea-game\"><u>Black Panther<\/u><\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/games\/iron-man-ea-motive-project\"><u>Iron Man<\/u><\/a>. But EA canceled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/respawns-star-wars-fps-is-canceled-but-work-on-next-jedi-game-black-panther-and-iron-man-will-continue\"><u>Respawn&#8217;s Star Wars first person shooter<\/u><\/a> before it was even properly revealed. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/games\/star-wars-respawn-bit-reactor-strategy-project\"><u>Star Wars strategy game<\/u><\/a> in development at Bit Reactor and produced by Respawn survived.<\/p>\n<p>In March, former PlayStation executive Connie Booth, one of the chief architects of PlayStation&#8217;s first-party strategy before her unexpected departure in 2023, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/connie-booth-ea-playstation-studios\">joined EA to help lead its studios<\/a> amid its ongoing restructure. Booth&#8217;s title is Group General Manager, Action RPG, with a portfolio that includes Motive (Iron Man and now Battlefield), Cliffhanger (Black Panther), and BioWare (Dragon Age, Mass Effect).
