Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2<\/a> developer Saber Interactive has issued a small hotfix for the explosive third-person melee shooter that makes a number of crash fixes and should help the game\u2019s performance on Steam Deck.<\/p>\n

The Hotfix 3.1 patch notes, below, also mention a fix for heavy stutter on some CPUs and fixes for dynamic resolution and ultrawide screens.<\/p>\n

However, there is no mention of much-needed server improvements. Even now, a month after launch, Space Marine 2 suffers significant server and connection problems<\/a> that affect PvE and PvP, adding frustration to players who struggle to complete matchmaking.<\/p>\n

The hotfix comes ahead of the launch of Space Marine 2 Season 2, which adds a new PvE Operations map, a new enemy, a harder difficulty level, a new weapon, and various other improvements. Season 2 runs from October until the end of 2024.<\/p>\n

Players were also told to expect more quality-of-life improvements, additional customization features (such as new colors for the lenses), and, for PC players, a 4K texture pack released for free, although publisher Focus Entertainment has yet to announce a release date for these additions.<\/p>\n

Saber recently released Space Marine 2\u2019s game-changing patch 3.0<\/u><\/a>, which made a seemingly innocuous change to the ending that got Warhammer 40,000 fans excited<\/u><\/a>. Fans have also unearthed interesting and unannounced Space Marine 2 cosmetics<\/u><\/a> by datamining the game.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, IGN interviewed Saber Chief Creative Officer Tim Willits about Space Marine 2\u2019s record-breaking success. He revealed the boost he expects the PS5 Pro will give Space Marine 2<\/u><\/a>, discussed how the breakout success of Space Marine 2 had \u201cchanged everything\u201d for the studio<\/u><\/a>, and how protective Games Workshop is over the Warhammer 40,000 brand<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n
