The wait is officially over. Outbound launches on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC today, and we finally get to trade our office chairs for a driver’s seat and take our dream camper-vans out onto the open road!

To help you kick off your journey, we’ve scouted the map and hand-picked the top landmarks you need to visit. Grab your gear – you won’t want to miss these!

The Fire Lookout

Perched atop the highest hill in the starting meadows, this iconic tower is likely the first landmark you’ll spot!

• Why Stop By: It offers a 360° view of the surrounding valley, making it the perfect spot to plan your next route. Don’t forget to check the interior for a terminal & download a blueprint to help upgrade your early-game workbench!

The Lighthouse

As you reach the coast, the Lighthouse stands as a beacon for all travelers. The views are fantastic, and it’s got that perfect salty-air atmosphere, but unfortunately the main light is busted!

• Why stop by: To get the light shining again, you’ll have to solve a clever environmental puzzle and craft some electronics to fix the broken bulb. A satisfying project & incredible views, perfect for a cheeky screenshot mode photoshoot? Sign us up!

Paws & Whiskers Lodge

This is arguably the most important stop on the map. Located right at the start of the cast, this lodge has a backyard full of dogs just waiting for a travel buddy.

• Why stop by: You actually get to adopt one! You can choose your favorite pup to join you in the van, and they’ll be your companion for the rest of the game. (Yes, you can pet them. Yes, they are the best.)

The Windmill

Imagine a mountain crowned by a massive windmill and surrounded by rows of bright tulips!

• Why stop by: Park up by the most vibrant tulips and explore the windmill, while enjoying the great views of the surrounding wheat fields. But here’s the twist: this mill doesn’t make flour. It grinds flower petals into the vibrant paints that can be used to colour your furniture!

Red Rock Rapids Kayak Club

Deep in the canyons, you’ll find this community hub for paddlers that will need your help in repairing the broken bridge!

• Why stop by: If you want to see how much the world changes as you travel, this is the place. Tucked between two tall waterfalls and on two sides of a lake that flows into a rushing river, the Kayak Club is one of the most fun places to explore!
