Have you heard the good and noble word of our Leader? I’d be happy to tell you all about him if you happen to have a few minutes. Or hours. Days? The rest of your life? Honestly, it’ll be fun. Why don’t you put on these robes and JOIN US in our little sandbox of adventure?
See, we’re a fun little commune known as The Infants of Sheep – not a cult, I want to make that clear; we’re a family – that wants to make the world a better place. How do we grow our flock? We do that by meeting all sorts of new and wonderful people walking around town – if they have a few seconds to chat, chances are my silver tongue can bring them to our side. And you would be correct to assume that it was one of our flyers you spotted in town. That helps spread our loving word even further, bringing more wonderful people to our little family in the corner of this wide-open rural corner of America – it’s funny, at times it really does feel like I could go anywhere I set my eye on.
What’s that? Oh, yes. That’s indeed a weapon cache. Feel free to break it open and build yourself an arsenal, I’m not picky. You can grab pistols, machetes, or even an AK-47. You can’t be too careful around these parts; people can be… resistant to our charms!
The timing of your arrival couldn’t have been more perfect as we’ve really been working hard to spruce up the place – you should have seen it a few months ago. We have so many more things available to us to help build out our commune, and we can place things pretty much wherever we want.
I’m thinking we will start with a couple of tents, a few beds, a campfire for cooking and a propaganda station (we need to get some more flyers up around town to build our numbers). The line always must go up, am I right?! We’ll hit the town later and look for supplies to bring back – we’ll need these if we want to build more structures and tools.
Also, the Leader is much more communicative with us now over the radio, guiding us along the way to make sure we understand the ins and outs of our living situation before setting us loose in the world. Our glorious fax machine inside the compound is how he keeps us focused and moving with objectives and goals.
Let’s step back outside. That over there with the benches and the scribbling on the wall is our little area for Teachings. This collection of beliefs allows us to select an ideology that makes our experience in the world unique and offers creative ways for us to grow our flock – like hitting non-believers over the head with a baseball bat to convert them.
Unfortunately, a few locals in the area are still not taking too kindly to us – a group attacked us just the other day, so apologies if you did happen to see a few bodies lying about. Could you believe they just ran in here shooting at us?! It’s like they really don’t want us here, like we’re a bad influence or something. Speaking of, now that you’re decked out in our robes, I would suggest to probably keep clear of any local peace officers – they are likely to just shoot you on sight. It’s a long story.
For now, let’s get in the camper van and see if we can’t talk some sense into our neighbors and convince them to stop shooting at us. I’m going to round up a few others, so we have a well-equipped party of four – just in case things get out of… oh Leader, they’re shooting at us! Quick, open fire!
Phew, that was a close one. Unfortunately, it looks like we lost some of our flock. No, they’re not coming back. Which is a shame because John was one of our best shots. Let’s head back home and regroup.
Another thing I appreciate about our little slice of the world is the abundance of vehicles for the taking and they each handle a little differently. I’m thinking we will ditch the camper van for that pick-up truck on the side of the road for our drive back home. No, that isn’t stealing. They are more than welcome to come take it back when I’m done with it. Also, when you get a chance, see if you can’t find yourself a little golf cart to drive around town.
WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT? Did you just see the sky turn purple for a few seconds? The Leader is telling us it’s nothing to worry about, but I also wonder if that’s connected to that bizarre green light that’s coming out from under the door in the Compound. Maybe the world really is coming to an end…
For now, I’m going to swap bodies. Yeah, it’s a thing we do. If I start to feel tired or hungry, I can just move freely into any of our fellow members no matter where they are in the world – the more members, the more body swapping. You should try it sometime.
